Dredging Advisory Services (DAS)
The Dredging Advisory Services (DAS) department is part of MTI Holland. We have at least 65 years of experience of fundamental dredging research, laboratory investigations, and practical tests and observations.
We are also part of IHC Merwede, the world's largest and leading supplier of dredging equipment. Based on this combination we are the experts to advise on what type of equipment to use and how to use it optimally.
Dredging advisory services
Through its consultancy department Dredging Advisory Services (DAS), MTI Holland offers independent dredging advise, which attracts clients throughout the dredging, mining and aggregate industry as well as governmental institutions and consultants.
Focusing on the dredging process the DAS supports its clients in their dredging operations. The DAS provides assistance in all matters concerning the dredging process. These include:
- Selection of the most suitable dredging methods and dredging equipment under given circumstances
- Dredger output calculations
- Troubleshooting and optimisation when a dredger does not meet its expected output
- Workability analysis
- Wear and tear predictions
- Exploitation cost analysis
- Support during the tender phase of a project for both consultants and contractors
- Analysis of local circumstances and their influence on the output of the dredge
Dredge mining consultancy
Far-reaching involvement and co-operation with companies in the industry in both mining processes and mining techniques has allowed us to build up an extensive knowledge base. This base is used to advise on optimal mining methods and on the treatment of the mined material. It is also used for the selection of dredging methods to reduce harm to the environment and the treatment of contaminated soil.
Feasibility, workability and dredgeability
DAS provides in-depth studies regarding the feasibility of both large and small-scale projects with regard to dredgeability, the necessary dredging technology, treatment and storage of soil, and in general the overall viability of the project in question.
Dredging consultancy and troubleshooting services
For a quick consultation regarding dredging problems for which an extensive study is not required, our DAS group can also support you. This group of highly skilled and experienced consultants also supports IHC Merwede in order to optimise the dredging capability of their dredger designs.
This is done to achieve the lowest cost per cubic metre dredged material. Their expertise has been built up through practice and through their earlier involvement in research and development.
Operational dredging support
For the operation of a dredging project it is essential to find the right balance between the scope and constraints for the execution of the project, the particulars of the selected equipment and the competences of the people involved.
As part of our lifecycle support policy, IHC Merwede offers a series of services to support their clients in their daily work. The DAS is part of these services, which include:
