Innovation Management support (IMS)

Innovation is more than technology improvement; it is also an interaction between people and products in a way that connects an organisation and its technology with the market and its needs.

The Innovation Management Support (IMS) group aims to continuously improve the innovation processes within IHC Merwede by facilitating this connection. We provide a consultancy role to the different IHC Merwede stakeholders during the initiation and execution of innovation management and strategy development projects. Our goal is to improve the innovative capacity of the organisation in order to meet (future) customer needs.

We achieve this by:

Roadmapping
A methodology for identifying and managing new products and services based on market demands. With business technology roadmapping, we support management to get the right products or services, at the right time, to the right markets. This is done with a group based process, if applicable beyond business-unit borders.

Market research
Market analyses are performed for various kinds of product ranges with the aim to visualise the market, market size, and market potential. Results can be used to identify new opportunities, and to enable unit management to make informed choices for business focus.

Knowledge management
As knowledge can be regarded as one of the core assets of IHC Merwede, we are active in knowledge management activities with the aim of stimulating the development of new knowledge and to making the most effective use of current knowledge.  read more..ยป

Support of product development processes
We provide organizational support and direction to the product creation process within IHC Merwede, in order to increase insight in this field and help management to increase the success rate of innovation activities.

Support of operational logistics and supply chain processes
IMS provides support to business units by creating insight into the internal and external supply chain and logistical processes of the unit, in order to gain insight into bottlenecks. This facilitates management decision processes for improvement.

Brainstorming sessions
We organize and facilitate brainstorming sessions for internal stakeholders on different kinds of organisational or technology-driven topics.

The people in our group have specific knowledge in different business-related fields, such as innovation management, strategy management, logistics/supply chain management, econometrics and project management. The department makes use of the most up-to-date knowledge within this field of expertise.
